Seraphim (Innovation)

Way, way back in the misty days of college I sold my first published work, a three issue science-fiction comic that was later compiled into a graphic novel.

Seraphim #1 Cover
Unfortunately the combination of my own youthful inexperience, a first-time comic artist, and a publisher that could best be described as "marginally competent" resulted in a work that didn't exactly begin my meteoric rise to the ranks of comics stardom. The plot was a mix of my interests at the time -- cyberpunk and anime, mostly -- and told the story of two operatives for a galactic security agency assigned to protect a religious leader targeted for assasination. Of course virtual reality figured prominently in the story, as did aliens, and there was even a bit of Alice In Wonderland for street cred. The end result was mixed at best (printing one of the issues with the pages out of order probably didn't help), but it's the ugly ducklings you love sometimes.
